About this tool
Layer Studio lets you design flat signs, decor pieces, and photo frames in 2D — stack motifs and text over a base silhouette — then converts the stack into printable color layers: stepped relief where each element rises above the last, or flush inlays sunk into the base.
Compose first and worry about printing later. When you are ready, the Print Recipe card is what matters: Base Depth sets the foundation, Step Depth sets how much each layer rises (0.4–0.8mm reads cleanly), and the recipe lists the exact heights for filament swaps.
Everything prints flat in one piece. On a single-nozzle printer, just change filament at each listed height — the recipe is designed to be followed mid-print.

Each level is one filament. On a single-nozzle printer, swap colors at the layer heights; with AMS the 3MF maps slots automatically.
